Christmas

We arrived in Dublin on Christmas Eve. We "hired" (rented) a "Leon". The manufacturer seems like it would be similar to VW--but it's actually "Seat". Regardless, "Leon" backwards is NOEL!

Driving is a treat! We rented a Manual Transmission..which is the only thing I will drive. It is very different to be using your left-hand to shift. The Neverlost system also speaks kilometers which is interesting too. It would have been a lot easier to "cab it", but the experience is priceless.

Christmas morning (I have video of this & I will post it if I can figure out how to do that.) We went to St. Patrick's Cathedral to find that service did not start at 8:30. We couldn't find people or signs to tell us when service would be held...so, we'll try again on Sunday!?!

Just about everything is closed on Christmas. Most of our day was spent looking through our travel books & making a game plan for the rest of our stay.

Then dinner time came...
Guess who was open!!! A Chinese place!! I was so excited to here "Fa-ra-ra-ra-ra...ra-ra-ra-rah!" (I'm taking this from the movie "A Christmas Story"...just in case anyone is thinking I'm being insensitive.) We hopped into the "Leon" and looked for "Chinese" in the Neverlost. The place was called "Jimmy Chungs". We were told it was "right over the river". The only place in the "Neverlost" was "Choungs"...so we trusted our "Neverlost" and proceeded. 20 minutes later...we had gone over a couple of rivers, through a tunnel, & along a countryside. "Choungs" was closed...& so was the real "Jimmy Chongs" by that time. Christmas dinner was spent in the hotel pub "The Vertigo" having chicken sandwiches & Mediterranean vegetable soup. Again, priceless & for sure memorable! : )
